Pastoral Care
A thriving community in a caring environment
We have created a calm and safe environment, where the children know that they are well supported by their teachers. They have plenty of opportunity to talk about the things which may be bothering them, either discretely using our ‘Worry Box’ or more openly in Form time or PSHE. Our children are encouraged to feel confident and secure in their decision making but, equally, we know that children make mistakes. Our aim is to help them learn from these errors and become more rounded citizens who consider how their actions may affect others. Our pupils enjoy coming to school to learn in fun and stimulating surroundings and they quickly adapt to our culture of wanting to do their best.
Collegiate is a safe, happy school where the Head greets each child every morning and ensures a seamless flow of information from school to home, parent to teacher. We support our families, so each child feels nurtured. We are undoubtedly a thriving community in a caring environment.
Pastoral care is core to Collegiate life. Your child will have a form tutor and be part of a deeply supportive traditional house system that celebrates all elements of school life, from sports day to inter-house competitions and regular house gatherings.
Older pupils form bonds with Pre-school and Reception classes in the weekly reading buddies sessions, which mutually support the reading skills of our newest pupils and give Year 6 children a taste of responsibility and relationship building.
Our termly Faculty Days enhance vertical bonds between pupils by bringing together children from different year groups to work collaboratively.
